newsoftserial for atmega

I was unable to compile a simple serial GPS sketch that used newsoft serial libraries.
I know this wont work on the chipkit boards due to the interrupt issues, but for compatibility sake it wouldn't work on this IDE for an AVR processor. It compiles on the latest arduino IDE.
