After I installed UECIDE I went to Preferences\Cores\chipKit and found these two folder locations:
Location of ipecmd.jar: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microchip\MPLABX\mplab_ipe\ipecmd.jar Location of mdb.jar: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microchip\MPLABX\mplab_ide\lib\mdb.jar
Why are Microchip MPLABX file locations ended up in my UECIDE installation preferences ? Is it because I had installed MPLAB-X before installing UECIDE ? If so, does that have an impact of some kind on compilation ? What are those files utilized for ? Thanks

The first you can ignore, it is redundant. The second is the Microchip Debugger and is used to allow programming with things like a pickit3. If you have mplab-x installed you can search for that mdb.jar file to allow the mdb programmer to work.
