wifire board not connection to windows

I just received my Wi-Fire board and have been searching for about a week trying to get it to show up on my computer so i can just load one of the samples. I have been searching everywhere for the issue but have not had any luck. i am not new to dev boards like thins and own many many arduinos, netduinos, pi's and other so i understand the basics.

the board i have is a wi-fire rev B running windows 10 using mpide (also have the arduino 1.6 with chipkit beta stuff loaded as well as that hooked into visual studio)

i have tried install the all the drivers, uninstalling then and doing it again, getting new usb and ftd drivers ...nothing will let the board show up.

It is powered and the ld1-4 leds are chasing as they light up. i am connected via the j11 micro usb, i set the jp6 jumper to AB

perhaps the board is bad?

No, the board isn't bad.

You can't connect through the micro USB - that provides a direct connection to the main PIC32 chip for your own firmware to provide direct USB communication (not supported yet).

Instead you need to use the Mini USB socket which connects to the FTDI chip.

thanks, i have no idea how i missed that. i am still not sure that is very well spelled out in documents and i am so use to micro usb on most devices i did not think it would matter. that was so simple.
