chipkit wifire not uploading

hi , i am using a chipkit wifire board and im trying to upload a Blink program using MPIDE but the problem is that it is not uploading the program to the board. Even if it uploads it shows a error saying com3 is already in use . I have already reinstalled the drivers but the problem still persists. please suggest me what should i do?

In the Device manager, what COM port is the WiFire on? What version of Windows are you running?

Com3 and the windows version is 7 enterprise 64 bit

Try moving the WiFire to a different COM port. You do this by going into the device manager, right clicking on the COM port, going into Properties, then clicking the Port Settings tab, then Advanced, then pull down a new COM Port Number. If you move the WiFire off of COM 3 (and possibly reboot?) then whatever is conflicting might leave you alone then on the new COM port number.
