Breadboard Suggestions For Fubarino SD

I soldered headers to my new Fubarino SD board today. I'm wondering if the board is meant for a nonstandard type of breadboard? It is a bit wide for an 830 tie point board. I know I can join 2 or more standard breadboards together. Or perhaps I'm missing something?

Normal breadboards (at least the kind I've seen) have two rows of 5 contact strips. There is a 0.3" gap between pin centers in the middle (since normal DIP chips have their pins 0.3" apart). The Fubarino is 1.0" between centers of it's pins. This leaves one row of pins on either side of the Fubarino when it is plugged into a breadboard.

You are quite correct - this isn't much space. I have plugged wires into breadboard pins underneath the Fubarino before, but this isn't ideal. However, it was designed to be used with a normal breadboard in mind.

There are some breadboards where you can remove the power rails from the edges and then connect up multiple 'main' breadboard pieces, in which case the Fubarino could span across them and give you many more options for connecting up to it's pins.

The Fubarino SDs have been used in many college level engineering and computer science classes (two of the main chipKIT devs teach these classes) before, and I'm assuming they were used with breadboards. My guess is that they have worked out a pretty good system of teaching the students how to connect up to the Fubarino SD pins on a breadboard.
