Hello there,

Just bought the Uno32 and I cannot seem to find it in Device Manager as a "COM" device.

I'm using Windows 8.1 and is fully up to date.

I've also searched the forums and saw that updating the FTDI drivers (http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm, got the .exe) generally fixes things, however it didn't for me.

I also tried switching USB ports to reinitialize the drivers. nothing happened.

Pretty bummed, any assistance will be greatly appreciated:).

Do you hear the New hardware sound? Is there an Unrecognized device in the device manager?

Hello Mikes, thank you for your reply.

I do not get that notification on the bottom right corner of the taskbar indicating I have a new hardware placed.

I do not see an unrecognized device either when the uno32 is plugged in.

Some usb cables only have power and no data connection. Does the USB cable work with any other devices?

Hello Jacob.

This did fix the problem! You're a legend!

The usb cable I used was one I took from a Nintendo Wii controller.

I feel kinda silly, but one wouldn't normally know of a power-only usb, it kinda defeats the "universal" in USB.

Yes, these cables should never be made.
