wifi shield with MRF24wg and firmware update

Hi at all, i read that microchip release new firmware for MRF24WG wifi module that allow to manage 4 connection in the same time. It is possible to update the firmware in my wifi shield?

I do not believe the firmware can be updated in the field.

I learned at the Masters that there might be a way to update the firmware, however that information has not been distributed to me yet. I have requested the information; lets see how that goes.
