I understand that CAN1 shares pins 14 and 15. Are there any jumpers needed to use CAN1?
Thanks - Mark.

I have not worked with CAN but since nobody else is replying I will.
The chipkit board itself does not have any transceiver chips on it. There is a network shield from Digilent that has two MCP2551 chips. Do you have that shield? Its an expensive way to get use of $2 worth of chips. If you do not use that shield you may still want to download the schematic, reference manual and libraries for reference. See link http://www.digilentinc.com/Products/Detail.cfm?NavPath=2,892,942&Prod=CHIPKIT-NETWORK-SHIELD
There are no jumpers on the chipkit board for CAN. If you use pins 14 and 15 just make sure you are not using other modules that use the same pins.
Hope this has been of help. George
