Nice. I did something similar a bit back with my old analogue scope. It has a "Z" input, which controls the beam brightness, so I managed a grey-scale image (well, green-scale) on the screen. The resolution had to be quite low though or it flickered too much to be comfortable.

I thought I had taken a picture of it, but alas I cannot find it.
