i got me a PICKit3 and for some reason it comes with a USB cable of which i have piles of and not a Rj11 cable , i think thats right ,and i cant be sure where to connect on the board . i can see where pin1 appears but not sure where the other wires connect in what order ... looking at the board i would presume i need a right angled connector on JP3 and that seems to tie in with the connector on the PICKit3..... the idea is to gain some experience burning bootloaders and sketches via MPLAB as i have no experience of PIC devices yet ,so am starting with the 32UNO before building on a breadboard PIC devices

You need a 6-pin header (straight or right-angled will do), and plug it into the friction fit header holes on the UNO32 (the 6 gold ones in a wiggly line). Then you just plug the pickit3 direct into the header, with pin 1 of the pickit3 corresponding to pin 1 on the board.

I don't know what you're on about the cable - it's a USB device, so of course it comes with a USB cable. RJ11 cables are usually used for telephones and modems.
