Re: Chipkit lenny can't get software serial to work

sternfox: Majenko's quite right - it is much better to use the many hardware UARTS on chipKIT boards first, and only resort to software serial if you absolutely need to. That said, I have done some extensive testing of the software serial library on chipKIT, and it does work pretty well (as long as ...

Re: Using Teensy Encoder Library for Fubarino

I think what you want is

Code: Select all

_BOARD_FUBARINO_MINI_
(Only one underscore at end)

Give that a try.

P.S. You can find the board defines in the boards.txt file. Each board has a section, and the *.build.board= line will tell you the name of the define just for that board.

Re: No target found chipKIT Uno32 on Arduino 1.8.5 and chipKIT-core 1.4.3

hadiknown, OK, we'll do our best to help you out. 1) What version of chipKIT-core do you have installed in the IDE? 2) Can you see the serial port that the FTDI chip on the UNO32 creates? I.e. if you do "ls /etc/dev" before you plug in the UNO32 and then after, do you see a new TTY port? (I'm not a ...

Re: Fubarino Software Reset

cb, OK, here is the sketch I used to test: void setup() { Serial.begin(9600); delay(5000); Serial.println("Starting"); delay(5000); } void loop() { Serial.println("In Loop"); delay(5000); executeSoftReset(RUN_SKETCH_ON_BOOT); } When I run this on Windows 7 on a Fubarino Mini, the behavior that I see...

Re: Fubarino Software Reset

cp,

What version of chipKIT-core are you using, and what version of Arduino IDE? (If any.)

When I run under IDE 1.8.5 and chipKIT-core 1.4.3, the call to executeSoftReset() doesn't appear to have any effect on my FBMini.

Maybe if you can include your sketch too that would help me debug.

Re: Fubarino Software Reset

cp,

OK, perfect. That's the info I need to solve this. I've got a Win7 machine I will experiment with.

Re: Fubarino Software Reset

Ahh, OK, I will look into that. Graham may be right though - this may be an issue with Windows. (BTW, Windows 10 is _far_ better about this type of thing than any previous version. What version of Windows are you running?) So, something for you to try quick: If you simply press and release the RESET...

Re: Fubarino Software Reset

Hi cb,

I'd try using the function

Code: Select all

executeSoftReset(RUN_SKETCH_ON_BOOT);
and see if that does it for you.

Re: MPLABX chipKIT Importer Plugin Released

Version 1.0.6 is the latest version, as of this date. (see https://github.com/chipKIT32/chipKIT-importer) However, we have now started on a v2.0.0 importer - I'm not sure what the status of this is (timeline, desired features, etc.) but I do see activity in the GitHub repo : https://github.com/chipK...

Re: Attention all you USB junkies!

I've been using this new USB stack pretty much non-stop for a couple months now, and have zero problems with it as a CDC serial replacement.

I think one of our next steps for the chipKIT project is to roll this new stack into a v2.0 core release before the end of the year.
