Re: Mix Arduino and Assembler?

No, I don't think it's the same. It's "store add store add jump". The second add is in the jump's branch delay slot. I think your first example has your unwanted load because LATC is declared 'volatile' so really the compiler has to generate code to load it again. By using a local variable without v...

Re: Mix Arduino and Assembler?

@majenko I'd imagine that something like this would be a little faster: void main () { unsigned int value; while(1) LATC = ++value; } void main () { 9d000188: 3c03bf88 lui v1,0xbf88 unsigned int value; while(1) LATC = ++value; 9d00018c: 24420001 addiu v0,v0,1 9d000190: ac6260a0 sw v0,24736(v1) 9d000...

Re: Official Release 20120903 Open Source Compiler

@artbecker It's usually best to start a new thread for each issue or question as they tend to get lost in the noise when adding something new to an existing thread. But anyway, could it be related to the rxtx library as described on this wiki page? http://www.chipkit.org/wiki/index.php?title=MPIDE_I...

Re: Compiler error--Max32

Can you Hold down Shift and press the Verify button? That should give you the full output from the build process. You can then post the output here.

What do you think of PIC32Lua?

Has anyone tried PIC32Lua on the chipKIT Max32 yet? It sounds like an interesting project, I might give it a try. http://www.askrprojects.net/software/pi ... index.html

Re: comparing I/O speeds with Arduino

In this case, do you think executing from RAM may help? I don't have hardware with me at the moment to test. void __attribute__((longcall,section(".ramfunc"))) togglepin(void) { while (1) { LATDINV = 1; } } void loop() { togglepin(); } Also, do you think that the core timer interrupt used by the del...

Re: Compiling the IDE

I think that Darth is right. The libraries get rebuilt as needed, no need to rebuild the whole IDE. However, to rebuild the IDE, you should be able to run "ant run" in the build directory.

Re: A new and easier way to debug chipKIT sketches in MPLAB

Hi, Thanks for these instructions. They look promising. I'm not clear on whether another tool like PICkit 3 is required for debugging. Also, this procedure will erase the bootloader, right?

Re: Cannot run Compiler on Case Sensitive Filesystem (Mac OS

I find that the MIPS32 Instruction Set Quick Reference is good http://www.mips.com/media/files/MD00565 ... -01.01.pdf There are more in depth docs on the MIPS website also.
